The DMD Story
From the humble beginnings of a family business, a new way of managing dental practices has emerged.
DMD Family Dental & Orthodontics is an independent dental group and consultancy practice with roots in the Greater Vancouver area, where Dr. Sophie Lertruchikun and Dr. Aly Kanani purchased their first dental practice in 2008.
In 2014, Dr. Kanani recused himself from the family business to partner with a large dental group, while Dr. Lertruchikun continued developing the network, which eventually coalesced into DMD Family Dental & Orthodontics in 2017.
In interactions with dentists and practice owners, both doctors observed a common theme: a struggle to balance delivering quality dental care with the intense requirements of managing operations. Helping practices achieve and maintain that balance has been their goal with DMD ever since.
In the summer of 2023, Dr. Kanani re-joined the company working specifically with orthodontic care. As DMD has grown, both doctors and their teams have cautiously and intelligently expanded the DMD network throughout BC.
